Ninpek Enemy Guide

Donkeyman

Donkeymen are one of the first enemies you'll see in the game, and also one of the easiest to deal with. Walks around and occasionally rolls. Drops a green egg (50p) when killed.

Daruma

Daruma are another early enemy. They might seem cute, until they open their mouths and spit out a deadly yellow projectile (a piece of corn, perhaps?). In the second round, they spit two consecutive projectiles. Drops a green egg (50p) when killed.

Ike

Ike appears as soon as the game starts, and is the bigger threat compared to the Donkeymen and Daruma. This seasnake shoots two projectiles at you, which split off in the air. Drops a silver egg (100p) when killed.

Donkairman

A donkeyman that has given up its roll for a propeller on its head and sweet sunglasses. Often appearing in groups, they bob up and down as they fly across the screen. Drops a green egg (50p) when killed.

Goldie

Goldie is a yellow fish who lives in the water, but this doesn't stop her from trying to bite you. Those big fins are used for an acrobatic leap, but if you avoid its arc or aim your shuriken well you won't have much to worry about. Drops a green egg (50p) when killed.

Gnashing Mouth

Unlike most enemies, Gnashing Mouths appear from the left of the screen, and make a beeline for you. Shoot them before they overwhelm you, or jump over them and they'll zoom off the screen. Drops a green egg (50p) when killed.

Ninja Snail

In our world, snails are small, slow, and harmless. In the world of Ninpek, some snails get ninja training. This allows them to grow to great sizes, kill with a touch, and creep around surprisingly fast. And yet, even with the ability to stick to the underside of platforms, they are some of the weakest enemies in the game. Drops a green egg (50p) when killed.

Skyfish

Skyfish, like their name suggests, are fish that swim through the sky. When one of them is above you, it will drop a bomb. The bomb not only hurts if you touch it, but shoots bullets in eight directions when it explodes. The range on this explosion is big, watch out! Drops a silver egg (100p) when killed.

Pig-Spider

Pig-Spiders are strange and threatening, with a bizarre countenance with who knows how many eyes and nostrils. However their physiology works, their behavior is clear. A Pig-Spider will jump up and down and shoot pellets in an arc towards you. If there is a platform above it may stay there after the leap, but it may also drop down to a lower level. Drops a purple egg (200p) when killed.

Lightning

Lightning occasionally shoots out from clouds, so be careful where you walk. You can't kill lightning and it doesn't drop anything.

Bella

Bella is a living umbrella. She and her Bella-friends jump around chasing you. If one of them is ever above you, she will plunge straight down. Drops a silver egg (100p) when killed. However, Bella also holds a different score-secret. If you avoid killing her or her friends, letting them bounce around for a while, each will turn into a crown to pick up (500p).

Redcap

Redcap is a mushroom with a red cap. Regardless of whether you attack, it will explode after a bit leaving deadly spores in its wake. These spores linger for a bit so don't be hasty! Doesn't drop anything, but if you manage to kill it before it explodes, you get 200p.

Allie

Allie is made out of aluminum, which was even rarer than gold before the Hall–Heroult process was invented... back when ninjas roamed the land. She proves this superiority to Goldie by spitting three poison bubbles at you on the way down, should you avoid her leap. Drops a silver egg (100p) when killed.

Pigman

Pigmen are much like Donkeymen, but faster! And piglier. They appear later in the game, too. Drops a silver egg (100p) when killed.

SpSpiders

SpSpiders, or Space Spiders, are squiggly enemies found in the moon section. A SpSpider doesn't do much, but climb up and down its thread. Of course, it'll still hurt you if you run into one, so don't do that! Drops a green egg (50p) when killed.

Cyclops

Cyclops is a Donkeyman mutated by the X-rays of space. In exchange for an eye, and the ability to run and roll, Cyclops can both teleport around and shoot lasers. Drops a purple egg (200p) when killed.

Moon Ghost

Moon Ghosts are spooky! They appear out of nowhere and go for your throat. Or soul? Maybe they suck your guts out through your mouth. Either way you need to keep your eyes open in the moon section. Drops a silver egg (100p) when killed.

Ichyostega

A ghostly amphibian - or maybe a fish - that appears only in the second round. It floats up from the bottom of the screen and then charges as soon as it lines up with you. Drops a green egg (50p) when killed.

Shroom Fairy

Shroom Fairies replace Redcaps in the second round of the game. Instead of staying still and exploding, they fly around and shoot clusters of three spores at you. Drops a silver egg (100p) when killed.

Twin Bolt

Comes down from the skies and splits when it hits a platform. Then, the split parts circle the platform until they meet up at the bottom and merge again. Can't be killed.

Octodoad

Octodoad is the big boss of the game, the one who stole your sandwich. The final stretch of the game has you jumping on its tentacles, as it shoots poison bubbles at you, and Twin Bolts and Goldies attack from above and below. If you manage to win against Octodoad, you enter the second round, looping through the game a second time with more difficult enemies.

The second battle against Octodoad is much the same, except there are more poison bubbles and Twin Bolts. Should you win this battle, the game ends for real and your score is compared to those on the high score list. Considering how long you've played to get here, you're likely to place at the top.
